Door-Man-Bill
Hats off to Burma-Shave. Long live the five-line jingle ...

You've used
Our cream
Now try our blades
Pair up the best
In shaving aids
Burma-Shave
Don't lose
Your head
To gain a minute
You need your head
Your brains are in it
Burma-Shave

In 1927 Burma-Shave launched its marathon billboard campaign (36 years long) of eclectic, witty jingles that entertained motorists throughout the land and established Burma-Shave as a household name for decades. If this is news (or you'd just like to freshen up), click on the B-S sign and cruise on into the sunset – the jingles live.

If it worked so well for shaving cream, how about door jingles? Well, who knows, but they don't bite and they're fun to cook up. Check back often for new jingles. Better yet, join in the fun and concoct your own! Email me Email DS your home-brewed, five-line jingles and they could end up here for all Door-Man-Bill followers to sample. Yummy.

Air's coming in, but
Can't see the problem
Get down on all fours
Then check
The door's bottom
Door-Man-Bill
Pushed down on the
Thumb-latch
Clunk, can't get in
Be willing to bet it's
An old Baldwin
Door-Man-Bill
Can't get it right
Driven to riot
Breathe
Confront
Come off auto-pilot
Door-Man-Bill

Steel and fiberglass
Doors are good
For character
And beauty, though
Make mine wood
Door-Man-Bill
The best reward
Under the sun
Your own pleasure
From a job
Well done
Door-Man-Bill
On this point
It's safe to bet
Loose, not win
With shame, blame
And regret
Door-Man-Bill

For goal not reached
There's nary a salve
Play it like this
BE ... Do
Then have
Door-Man-Bill
Always there
Like no other
Today's for you
A loving
Mother
Door-Man-Bill
Be ye hawk
Or be ye dove
All ye ever
Need is
Love
Door-Man-Bill

Hard to keep working
Bifold be damned
Put in a slider
It will
It can
Door-Man-Bill
No need to replace
A door that's tight
Have it refit
And give it
More Life
Door-Man-Bill
Choose your roads
Wisely
Travel them well
Make many stops
Have much to tell
Door-Man-Bill

Too many
House keys
Oh me, oh my
Re-key the locks
No need to cry
Door-Man-Bill
Go for it now
Give it your all
Don't let it be said
You missed
Your call
Door-Man-Bill
Dogwood blooming
Beauty it brings
Winter's forgotten
Welcome back
Spring
Door-Man-Bill

Screens are there
To let in the
Breeze
If holes you see
The bugs be pleased
Door-Man-Bill
Tug at the handle
Hard to slide over
This patio door
Sure needs a
New roller
Door-Man-Bill
Ponder too long and
The brain turns to ink
Solve it you will if
You look
Don't think
Door-Man-Bill

Dwell in the past
Be like a
Peasant
Rule like a King
Embrace the present
Door-Man-Bill
Doors rank below
Arcane rocket science
Less fuss needed
To keep doors
Reliant
Door-Man-Bill
Gaps around
A door are free
Utility bills
Are not
You see
Door-Man-Bill

Be all that
You can be today
A brighter
Tomorrow
Awaits as pay
Door-Man-Bill
A sticky door sticks
Loads of attention
A door swinging free
Never gets its
Due mention
Door-Man-Bill
Fix that door now
Fix it much later
Catch a small fish
Or wrestle
Three gators
Door-Man-Bill

Work at taking
The time
To look
Reap the reward
An open book
Door-Man-Bill
Please open freely
And close so tight
Some doors just don't
They love a
Good fight
Door-Man-Bill
Why is this entry
All weathered, so poor
Protect it, show care
Add a new
Storm door
Door-Man-Bill
